The relationship between the cerebellum and cognitive function

Damage to the functioning of the cerebellum at a sensitive period of early development may disrupt the formation of non-motor neural circuitry and influence cognitive functioning. This study from Princeton University focuses on cerebellar damage at birth and autism but acknowledges that other childhood neurological conditions may also be better understood as knowledge about the role of the cerebellum, damage or dysfunction and cognitive function increases.
